Our 16 hour theory driving course for teens and novices drivers gives students a thorough understanding of the concepts of safe driving which may be learned most efficiently in a classroom environment. The Proactive Calgary Driving School helps teenagers drive confidently and safely using their best judgment in all kinds of traffic. Our curriculum focuses on safe and defensive driving practices, with a constant emphasis on the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and other drugs. Here, students can learn common sense approaches to driving, decision-making, and hazard avoidance without the burden of having to try to control a car at the same time. Driving courses for beginners in Calgary

Driving lessons for adults for those who have little prior driving experience over the age of 18 who need to learn how to operate a vehicle. Our instructors will teach you how to control your vehicle, drive defensively, make left and right turns correctly, parallel parking, and much more. The driving program includes 16 hours of in class tuition and 10 hours behind the wheel driving lessons. Upon completion of course certificate will be issued (Program qualifies for Insurance Premuim Discounts)

Brush up driving lessons in Calgary

These lessons are for people who just want to refresh their driving skills or for those drivers who need professional training prior to a re-examination so they may reinstate their driving privileges. One brush up lesson consists of two hours of driving in a school vehicle with a certified driving  instructor.

The price for this course is 130.00 dollars per person.*

Defensive Driving Course in class

Entails one seven and a half hour classroom session. Allows a driver to remove 3 demerit points from his/her license upon successful completion. The course requires that the student complete an exam consisting of 40 questions. A driver has to achieve a score of 80% in order to qualify for the certificate. Optimum class size: 10-15 students. The Defensive driving course will be followed by a 5 minute driver-instructor feedback session. Upon completion of course certificate will be issued (Program qualifies for Insurance Premuim Discounts and 3 Demerit Point dismissal)

Corporate Fleet safety training proposal

Driver’s Assessment 

A 20 minute written test on traffic rules and regulations is followed by a 5 minute vehicle inspection and a 40 minute driver’s evaluation. The company receives a detailed report stating the achievement of its drivers, including knowledge of traffic rules and regulations, performance skills, attitudes, final marks and recommendations. A written report will be sent to the company within three business days. The driver assessment will be followed by a 5 minute driver-instructor feedback session.

Driver’s Training and Assessment 

A 5 minute vehicle inspection is followed by a one-hour training session that facilitates the development of proactive/defensive skills. The training session is followed by a 30 minute evaluation, and a 20 minute written test on traffic rules and regulations. The Driver Training & Assessment will be followed by a 5 minute driver-instructor feedback session.

Insurance Discount

A Proactive Calgary Driving School  is approved by province of Alberta for ticket dismissal. Our defensive driving safety classes can help our students who succesfully passed exams to  dismiss their tickets, and obtain lower insurance rates!

Certificate of Completion

After completing our course, you will receive a Certificate of Completion or via Canada Post within 7-10 business days. 

Car rentals

Students have the option to use our Proactive Calgary driving school car for the license examination at a rate of $50 per test. Rentals for repeats of failed tests will incur the fee.

All classes meet at Proactive Calgary Driving School located at

23A, 9620 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB. 

 All Practical driving lessons will start and end at our office or we can offer pick up and drop off at home, work, or school  at additional charge   $20 per occurence.
